Who the hell gave her that black eye?
‘Winning is a habit’, the writing on the wall says in the end of this video. Ronda Rousey has to work hard all the time to keep this habit. When you watch this clip shot at her training camp you feel that despite the outcome (Holly Holm is not all cheap talk like Bethe Correia, in fact she’s not a cheap talk at all) Ronda Rousey is going to face her opponent in November fully prepared.
Workout and stretching, grappling and sparring – we still call her a judoka but with each fight she proves to become more and more multi-talented. The only sad thing about the clip is that nasty black eye Ronda has on her face. Let’s hope the black eye has nothing to do with the latest confessions of Travis Browne and is just the sign of her work on striking skills.
The main tune in this video is ‘Ecstasy of Gold’ by Ennio Morricone which is an arguable choice, in fact. On the one hand, this piece opens up Metallica concerts since 1983 and is a clear sign of upcoming storm and fury, which we hope Rousey will be on November night in Melbourne. But ‘Ecstasy of Gold’ has a closer connection to combat sports in common and UFC in particular, as Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic used it as his walkout tune at UFC 128 where he was defeated by Brendan Schaub via a knockout in the final round. But, well, who cares, the melody is great anyway and Edda Dell’Orso’s singing is awesome.
