ARVE Error: Start
What we have here is the final amature fight of one Ronda Rousey. You may have heard of her. The Rowdy One squared off against undefeated Taylor Stratford at Tuff-N-Uff Las Vegas vs. 10th Planet Riverside.
How do you think this fight ended? That is correct: armbar. The fight takes exactly 24 seconds and ends in a bit of controversy. Rousey comes out and uses her judo skills to take Stratford to the ground. Once there she goes immediately to the first armbar attempt. Even the announcer calls it her “signature” move. Keep in mind this is only her third ever fight.
Stratford gets out of the first attempt but Rousey goes right back to the armbar and finally sinks it in and the ref stops the fight.
This is where the controversy comes in. Stratford never tapped out. Look at the replays. There was never a tapout. She looks puzzled as to why the fight was stopped. Some will say that she verbally tapped but if she did then why the incredulous look when the fight was stopped. To be fair the fight would have most likely ended a few seconds later but Ronda Rousey is such a polarizing personality that these little things become big things.
Rousey is currently the UFC women’s bantamweight champion and will meet Cat Zingano at UFC 184 to defend her belt for the fifth time08.07.2016 13730
