Irish Boxer Goes Off On Live TV

Do you think he was cheated out of a win?

IRISH boxing sensation Michael Conlan has launched a vicious four-letter attack at amateur boxing and accused the sport’s AIBA governing body of being crooked after he crashed out of Rio 2016.

The bantamweight was a hot favourite to take gold but he was beaten in the quarter-finals by unfancied Russian Vladimir Nikitin.

Michael Conlan furiously labelled amateur boxing’s governing body AIBA as “corrupt” after he was controversially beaten by Russia’s Vladamir Nikitin in the men’s bantam boxing quarter-finals.

The Irish fighter reacted angrily to the ruling against him in what is the latest scandalous decision at Rio 2016 ‘s boxing.

It is the second disputed win for Nikitin too, after he squeezed through the round of 16 bout over the Thai fighter Chatchai Butdee.

And Conlan, who won bronze at London 2012, vented his fury in a tirade in his post-fight interview with a series of expletives as his Olympic dream was cruelly ended.
