First ever head-to-head
The fight that all the boxing fans have been waiting for is finally about to happen later this year, actually it’s happening in less than 2 monthes as Manny Pacquiao is set to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 2 at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada. Many already gave up hope this bout would ever happen with so many negotiations falling through over the last few years . In fact this fight could have happened 5 years ago when Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr. agreed to face each other on March 13, 2010. At that time Manny was coming off an impressive 12th round referee stoppage win over Miguel Cotto. After all the disagreements about the drug testing the fight was called off on on January 7, 2010. Here we’re 5 years later and less than 60 days away from ”the biggest fight in boxing history”. It’s certaintly the ”richest” fight of all time with the purse expected to be $250m or higher depending on the pay-per-view buys. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the betting favorite going into the fight but the odds are the shortest he has been in a while with the bookmakers. In fact a lot of money over the last 2 weeks is being placed on Manny Pacquiao to beat Floyd and give him his first professional boxing loss of his almost 20-year career. This is going to be a big (pay)day for both of the boxers and all the boxing fans around the world. Now lets just hope nothing crazy happens in the next 2 monthes and we finally get to see the fight.
