Amateur fighter scores an incredibly weird submission in his debut bout!

The referee needs to try some other job, by the way.

With amateur fights you never know what you’re going to see. A back and forth fight between Brian Borden and Coty Shannon at Nemesis Fighting Alliance Infantry Engaged in June 2012 ended in the most insane way. While on the ground, Shannon trapped Borden with something that started as omoplata, continued as a kind of a rear naked choke and a Peruvian necktie and ended with lights going out for Brian Borden who didn’t tap in time.
It’s easy to see that Borden was out for at least five seconds until the referee intervened. However it was not as bad as in Michigan, the third man in the cage probably was too surprised with what he had seen and tried to figure out what was going on. Anyway, when he realized it was about time to do something, Shannon had put Borden to sleep.
While this epic win took place in summer of 2012, it took a year until it went viral gaining more than half a million views total (only seven thousands at the Nemesis official Youtube channel though). But it’s still fun to watch – we’ve seen a lot of perfect submissions, classy submissions, timely submissions but this one is surely a contender for “The craziest submission of the decade” contender.
